When I was a kid, and this must be the same for most of us, all I wanted to do was hangout with my friends. Street hockey, bike rides, it didn’t matter, as long as it was with a buddy. When I got older, it was more about the drinks with co-workers, rips on the mountain bike, shows…again, it didn’t matter so long as it was an experience with a friend or two. Then kids happened. Going out with friends became far less a priority and more of a luxury. That is when I learned to make those precious encounters special. To find those quality experiences worth remembering.
The Honey Garlic Pie Fest is one of those occasions where memories can be made. Shows in Wishart have all but disappeared. Bands like the Bromantics rarely grace the surrounding small town stages. Field to fork isn’t even a thing in these parts. So when you make the trek to our island surrounded by grid roads, bring your posse of friends. We’ll dine you, and rock you. You’ll be pumped for a week. And best of all, you’ll have had a memorable night with the people in your life that matter the most. Catch you at the door. Free hugs to those who ask.
